  2. Kaushal Rocky, Task manager is included. Also, it doesn't have any bugs since it is official firmware from Samsung and is probably checked many time before releasing it.

  3. Dejan,
This is for official release for Indian Galaxy Pop, however, someone from Europe flashed it and it worked. So, if you want you can flash it. You can find details in my previous post.

  4. ...Yagya , sincerly , what do you think is the best rom ??????????????????????????????????????

    ReplyDelete
  5. Dejan,
I like stock rom for it's fast simple UI, better performance and better battery life. However, Cyanogen mod has got some cool features which I need the most such as lock screen (music) widgets, a2sd support, Nandroid support, status bar brightness control and many others. So, CM7 better suits my need and I think it is the best.

However, that's my view. For, Those who don't need a2sd and other features might be happy with stock rom and it is very nice for them too. So, you see it depends on your requirements and preference.

  6. Hi Yagya. Your blog is great.

    I have one question.

I recently upgraded my Galaxy MINI 2.2.1 Froyo to 2.3.6 Gingerbread from this link http://androidadvices.com/samsung-galaxy-mini-s5570-steps-install-gingerbread-236-jvkt1-firmware/

So far I haven't had any kind of problems, and its working great.

I just want to make sure that I can root this phone with this current system without problems, if not should I flash the 2.3.6 from your link.

    Thanks in advance.

    BTW, I live in Europe.

  7. agonn,
The version you flashed seems to be JVKT1, which is different than the one here, which is DDKQ7. If you are from India then I recommend you flash this rom since it is official release for Indian Galaxy pop (DDKA7 or DDKC1). However, the root process might work with your version too, but I haven't tried it.

  8. I too flashed my galaxy pop with gingerbread 2.3.6 but having some bug. Wifi keeps disconnecting and other wifi related bugs. And while i root my phone and delete unnecessary apps like samsung apps etc phone restarts(looks like modifying sys files restarts the phone). I used link2sd smoothly in 2.2 but its not working as it should.

  9. suren,
It's being such since you did something wrong while flashing. Please make sure your flashed the firmware fine and then wiped your data (factory reset) and cache in recovery.

Also, Samsung apps is one of the proprietary apps that shouldn't have been deleted. Please flash your firmware again using the step by step instructions from above and you will have a nice smooth system. Also, Link2sd is working just fine, I am using it with 512 MB FAT32 partition.

  10. Hi yagya, so much so for upgrading our android phones. Most of us actually feel scared to take the plunge for fear of bricking our phones. Even if we follow your instruction in toto it is perhaps lack of self confidence. Most viewers will agree on this

  11. I have a samsung Galaxy pop and I have rooted the phone with Super One click. After upgrading to 2.3.6 Gingerbread do i have to again root my phone

  12. i successfully update my pop

  13. Rajdeep Singh,
Probably you will need to root your device after you flash/upgrade to GB 2.3.6. However, I have found some cases in which the root remains and you don't need to root again. You will get to know that pretty soon. Don't worry you can root again by following instructions at :

  17. Hi, I updated my Galaxy pop from 2.2 to GB 2.3.6. The process was successful.
One thing i noticed was, Why the Vibration icon is 'ON' (highlighted in green) when in actual the vibration mode is OFF.

In the screenshot attached by u above (vibration mode is activated while the icon is not highlighted in green).

All other features like WIFI, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.,, the icon wont turn green unless we specifically select to turn them ON but for Vibration mode its just the opposite. Icon is green while in actual the vibration mode is off.

There wasn't a bug like this in android 2.2

  18. I guess this problem is specific to your phone only. Try wiping data in recovery and it might get solved. Or, you can simply ignore it and use your device. And, if you are talking about icons in Power Control widget they don't seem to work properly. So, just ignore them.

  19. hello ....i have 2.3.6 on s5570 runing v.well.but....only one problem its whenever iwant to write something  its phone typing itself witout tuoching.and i ll try to reboot but same.......anyone solution?pls....espacialy posting to famus yagya....ha....ha sorry.......

    ReplyDelete
  20. It might be a problem with your keyboard or your rom (are you using official rom for your region?) Also, why don't you try doing a data wipe in recovery and see if it is solved (Data wipe deletes all data in internal memory). Or, you may flash any of the custom roms available.

    ReplyDelete
  21. sorry yagya i using 2.3.6 firmware download from your links.i m not user of costom rom....and which rom official for uk?and cm7 is drain my battery too fast.then i back again on 2.3.6.....showing like your photo of screen flash attechment.....

    ReplyDelete
  22. I probably couldn't get your that clearly. But, it seems like you are from UK and want a firmware for it. Pelase look/search for official smasung firmwares here and there I have tried to be as specific as possible to track and tell you the region or location for the firmware.

  23. does warranty vahishes after updating to gingerbread.....????

    ReplyDelete
  24. No, warranty is void if you root your phone (or flash any custom roms since they are rooted already). Upgrading your device doesn't affect your warranty.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, you can do that if your phone is not Sim locked. Also, remove Sim card and memory beforeflashing the ROM. There is less chance of bricking your device.

  30. That Phone icon is shit. Can we change it yagya

  33. I have clockworkmod (4. Something version) & want 2 root my galaxy pop 2.3.6 ddkq7 safely... You mentioned to have stock recovery for rooting... Plz tell me what should I do???

    ReplyDelete
  34. Adarsh,
Either you can flash stock firmware using Odin and it will change your recovery to stock one, or you can try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529989 if you don't want to flash full firmware. The link will allow you to change your CWM recovery to stock one by flashing only stock recovery using Odin. But, since it is experimental use it at your own risk.

  35. hello:) i upgrade my galaxy mini from a different article..
And i encounter some problem when i reboot my phone it needs alot of time, when the samsung logo appear it will blink 10-13x.
Can i fix this by upgrading again using ur article,is it safe??? thanks

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yes, it is totally safe and you will have no problem with your device after upgrading. if you can provide me more details about your device (where are you from) I could suggest better alternatives also.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lets just say I'm from Europe and can you tell me how can i change my device's statusbar like this blue http://nerdsmagazine.com/nova-launcher-highly-customizable-home-screen-launcher-for-android-4-0ics/

how can i change my battery logo, signal like that??

    ReplyDelete
  40.  Thanks :D
    In froyo it was home+back.

    ReplyDelete
  41. The easiest way to get those icons is to flash Cyanogen Mod on your galaxy mini/pop. CM 7.2 has those icons within the roms. Or, if you like stock look then emanoN rom is a great choice which also has those icons. Or, if you are not in to flashing custom roms then, you will need to manually edit your framework-res apk inside system/framework/ folder to manually change the icon with the one from CM7 and then re-pack it and push it back onto your device. This is quite difficult if you are not getting what I'm telling above.

So, I suggest you to flash CM 7.2. It has many other features too, which you are likely to love.

  42.  do i need to root my phone first????

    ReplyDelete
  43. hello again.
my basebrand is S5770XWKT2 and buildnumber is jvkt1, my phone is from movistar and i upgrade to the basebrand listen above, thats the info.
should i upgrade xwkt7 or ur article btw how many times samsung logo blink after reboot???:)

    ReplyDelete
  44. LOL! don't stay there counting the blinks. If it is a normal reboot it should boot up within a minute and if it after a flash then it might take around 5 to 10 minutes for first boot.

Also, upgrade to XWKT7 instead of DDKQ7 since it will be official update for you. However, you can follow the instructions from above (just replace the firmware with XWKT7) to flash your device. If you need any help don't hesitate to ask.

    ReplyDelete
  45. hhahah ok;) btw my phone is lock on Movistar???
any negative thoughts  of what will happen if its locked??

    ReplyDelete
  46. If so, you can't flash it on your device. You will need to unlock it first.

    ReplyDelete
  47.  but i upgrade my galaxy mini to 2.3.6 w/out any problems, why is it that i can´t upgrade my galaxy mini again???

    ReplyDelete
  48. Did it worked by the same method? ALso, is your network operating without any problem.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yes,As for now i didn't enounter some problems.
Can you tell me some problems that i might ecounter?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well, the only problem should be using your carrier. Other than that there should be no problem. But, if you are not facing any problem related to your network then, it is probably fine. Other errors are unlikely. :)
