    Hello Yagya,

Before i flash this, one question: is this the same version as the RC 5.4 with the recommended updates? Because this one is telling me i am using RC 5.5. already.

    Greetings, Harro

  5. I have some problems, dunno if these are bugs or it is so:

    1. Notifications come without vibration, though it is set to "always vibrate"2. I don't get list of available wifi networks when I turn on the wifi, I need to go to settings to see the list.
I got these even after flashing it again with data/cache swipe
    Thanks in advance

    ReplyDelete
  6. They are not the bugs. For notification vibration please set Vibrate to always in Settings and you might also need to put your phone in vibrate + sound mode. You can use power control widget or Widget buttons on notification windows (Choose Sound icon on INterface-->Notification Widgets-->Widget buttons CM Settings). PLay around and it will work.

For the second one that's not a bug. This feature is not available on Cyanogen Mod rom. It will connect to any saved network that is in the range automatically. To add new networks you will need to visit the Settings.

  7. No, this has few more options added. But, if you don't want to flash it then you can wait for next release.

  8. Hello Yagya,
Could you please check something for me? Put the phone into vibration silent mode, set the alarm clock with the headphones connected. Go to Settings > CyanogenMod settings > Sound - Always play on speaker - Mark Alarms.
In my case it doesn't work (it plays the alarm via headphones) and I know it worked on a stock ROM. It is very important to me as I often fall asleep with headphones on and during the night I take them off. I am on 5.4 release of CM7.

    Thanks in advance.

  9. dear yagya, do i have to install back the gapps zip and darktremor app2sd zip again,. after i will flash this cyanogen mod 7.2.9 rc5.5 pls help

    ReplyDelete
  10.  I think you don't need to flash gapps because I observed that market application is already there, you just need to configure with your google account. Rest google apps like gmail, maps you can then download and install. For CM, I remember yagya recommends using S2E (simple 2 ext) app which has very user friendly UI and no need to flash dark tremor script.

I already flashed it. It's fine!
Pity that CM 9 still doesn't support the Camera. Waiting for that to happen!

  12. Thanks for the reply, but I couldn't manage to do it. I don't get vibration from notifications even when only in vibrate, tried several combination of settings and still can't get it working.

Maybe you also know how to increase sound of keypress sound? Because it's very silent, even though all sound levels are set to max. Thanks

  13. Thanks for  your valuable helps while installing cm7 RC5.4. Now i tried CM7 Rc5.5 and its working nice. The one thing missing is the live wallpappers which is there in RC5.4 is not in RC5.5. But i extracted it from CM7 RC5.4 rar pack & it is working.
I need one help. While installing one live tv app named Tvgo live tv from market the gets restarted and not installed. No problem while installing any other apps. Is it my phones problem or cm7 problem?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Phone sleeps well for me. Try pressing the power button and see.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Maybe the app is not just meant for your device (or geographical location). ALso, if you have overclocked your device try decreasing the max CPU around 604 Mhz and see if it works.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yes, you will need to flash these again in CWM recovery. Find their respective articles and follow them.

    ReplyDelete
  17. No, I am quite unknown about these matters at the moment. I always prefer to keep my phone in silent mode. Keypress sound are triggered by audible touch tones and Haptic Feedback in Sound Settings. I don't think their volume can be adjusted manually.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Launch any Google app (gtalk or wallet or any other to trigger Google account signin ) and then you will get Market too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It asks to create new account, or login. I click yes, and market closes.

  20. hi, im using gingerbread 2.3.4 DXKPD and flash my samsung galaxy mini to emanon v4 rom. Can i flash to this rom directly via CWM?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hi Yagyagaire. Before I flashing this, what is the battery performance comparing to RC5.4?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Hello,
I love this ROM!I just flashed it yesterday and so far so good. unfortunately after flashing "gapps-gb-20110828-signed" i am not able to download and instal any google app. i get an authentication error.
Also, the sim tool kit seems to have a problem. It works fine but the requests dont get through to the network. i called customer care and they confirmed that no requests for any service were received even though i had used the sim toolkit. is this a bug and what can i do?I posted this question in another article on this blog but i never got any response.
    Anyone pliz help me here!
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  23. ok...i have checked back in my previous post and you had answered my question about the sim toolkit not working on cyanogen mod. My apologies for implying you hadnt. However i flashed the cyanogen rom  for ideos u8150 and on that phone the toolkit works perfectly! Could you maybe be having any information if there are any efforts to get the toolkit to work for the galaxy mini version of cyanogen?
And my gapps are now working well after a reboot.
    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yes, you can. Skip steps 1 and 2 and then follow the rest of the steps and you are done.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Battery is quite good. Give it a shot and see. Do a backup first and then if you don't like it then you can restore the backup.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I am really sorry that you didn't get any reply. But, if you posted in correct article, then you should have got the reply. Or, maybe you posted in blogger comment box which is not supported at the moment.
Anyway, on to your problems. After flashing any gapps run any Google app that can be found on your device and then it will ask for login details, follow the onscreen instructions and you are done. Make sure you have stable connection before you try this and your password is correct.

The sim toolkit is an experimental feature and it might have bugs. Wait till it is refined by the developer.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks for making me sure that I had replied to the previous query. I get many comments in a day and it's difficult to remember everything. I hope you will look to the post you posted an comment for a reply before you ask it again from next time.

Also, the developer is working to make the sim toolkit work and it will probably be fixed if he can.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Don't know why that's happening? Try going to Accounts and Sync settings and then press menu and select add account option and then choose Google and follow the instructions. It should work fine. If it doesn't wipe data and cache or reflash the rom and then flash gapps again and try again.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thx, I've fixed it with your earlier post about accounts.

  41. Dear Yagya. I must confess that I am a bit disappointed at you. It's being more and more difficult to use my mini to post in your blog. It is getting sluggish by the minute. Hope you can change that. But I must also say that its look is getting more and more interesting too. So I really hope these two things aren't related.

What I wanted was some help on CM 7 RC5.5. Is it possible to use power button to take pictures with the default camera? How?

Also you've reported that the battery status is reliable. Maybe on your phone it's so but on mine spare parts is much more reliable...

Given that the ROM is quite good. And quite stable too. My compliments to the developers and to you too who keeps us on such a privileged perspective about almost the cutting edge...

    Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Thanks, for you feedback. And, I must also say that the two things are related. But, don't worry I working on fixing this problem. Please allow me some time to do so. Since I am trying to build my own custom template with many features included the problem as such mentioned by you are arising. In case I'm unable to fix the issues I will revert to anther one which will fix this for sure.

About cm 7 power button to take photos, you can set it in the settings of you camera app; but this feature is yet to be refined. Give it a try and you will find out why.

    Cheers

  44. i need help in customizing desktop screens. when i keep swiping until the last screen it goes back to the first screen disregarding the wallpaper area limit

    ReplyDelete
  45. So, you don't want it to go to the first screen if you scroll past the last screen. Please, check in the Launcher Settings at Settings-->ADW Launcher and search for something like wallpaper loop. Forget exactly what the option is but, you will find it if you take spend some time there.

    ReplyDelete
  46. You shouldn't have done fix permissions in recovery.... This feature is still not working in our galaxy mini. Wipe data and cache to see if your problem is solved otherwise flash the rom again.

  49. No, It ought to take maximum of 10 to 15 minutes to boot up after flashing the rom. IF you are stuck at ANDROID logo, wipe data, ,cache and dalvik cache in CWM recovery and if your device is stuck in CM logo then re-flash the rom again and wipe data and cache and reboot.

  53. Follow the instructions here once after you flash CM7 rom : http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/12/how-to-flash-google-apps-on-your.html

    ReplyDelete
  54. how to updates in the set

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just follow the instructions from above. Install one update and then install other and when you are done wipe data and cache and reboot.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I must say one pare of things, first, in some times this is not a stable rom, If u haven't patience to move a rebuilt settings to get a full performance, I re-flashed 2 o 3 times cuz allways I founded little troubles with settings..

Second, the cost of battery life it's more expensive than I expect.. I was using a basic Andro-id romv3.2 by tj style ( discontinued )  and battery life was so large, even like 3 days withouth turning off the mini. With cm7.2RC5.5 performing  the same use I get life about 1 day..  Is there any way to configure this rom to get a nice battery life..? What's the better way for performance..? Thanks a lot and congrats with ur site..

    ReplyDelete
  57. I guess it's one of the demerits, however battery is not that worse too. Just configure your device to use lilgv2 governor, don't overclock, set maximum screen off CPU to 245 mhz and min. CPU freq to 110 or something mhz. You can also disable unnecessary touch sounds and gastric feedback. Also, adjust brightness , turn auto rotations off, turn off animations, don't use themes and your battery should be improved. Also, you can try many other things to prolong your battery sighs as turning wifi off when not in use, using only 2G network when possible and many more.

    ReplyDelete
  60. thanks thanks thanks ....so many thanks ... u are awesome man ! finally the android logo stuck problem is solved by again flashing the same rom ...

    ReplyDelete
  61. Remove battery and then put it back in and press Home + Power button to go to recovery mode. Then wipe data, cache and dalvik cache again. Now reboot & wait for 5-10 mins. If that doesn't solve the problem then flash older version 4.0.0.5 of CWM recovery and flash the rom again. It will solve the problem.

  62. Is there any cyanogen mod that is bug free. Every
cyanogen mod has bugs no matter how advanced version it is.

And why developers not making Gingerbread Miui if ICS Miui has Camera and Radio bug.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Cyanogen Mod is in development stage so every version has few or more bugs. But. it has been improved very much since it was first available and should be pretty stable and bug free with few more releases.

The GB MIUI is closed source so the developer can't make it.
