Rooting Samsung Galaxy Pop With Official Gingerbread 2.3.6.

Official Gingerbread v2.3.6 is finally released for Indian Samsung Galaxy Pop GT-S5570 and in my previous post I wrote about how you can get this official update on your phone manually using Odin. Today in this article I will tell you how you can root your Galaxy Pop which is running official gingerbread 2.3.6 (S5570DDKQ7 firmware). Please follow through the steps carefully for successful rooting of you devices. If you don't know already let me tell you that rooting will provide you with superuser access to your device, giving you full control of it. Once rooted, you can access system files, change fonts easily, remove unnecessary system apps, install those apps that need root access to run and many more which are a matter of talk if your phone is not rooted.

Before beginning, let me warn you that rooting has a risk of bricking your devices resulting it unusable. So, Do It At Your Own Risk. Also, I have tried it and it works fine on my galaxy pop gts5570 which is running this same update of Gingerbread 2.3.6. So, it will probably be fine if you stick with the steps below. Let's being with it then.
  1. First of all, download the upd_1.zip file from my drop box mediafire. If you don't have Drop box account yet then signup now from this link to get extra 250 MB free along with regular 2 GB cloud storage.

  2. Mount you SD Card to your personal computer and then copy the file you downloaded to the root directory of your sd-card (It means simply don’t copy inside any directory/folder).

  3.  Unmount your SD Card from your computer and reboot your galaxy pop smart phone in to recovery mod (Press Home + Power Button).

  4. Select ‘Apply update form sdcard’ and select the file (named gingebread-2.3.6-root.zip) you copied earlier to your sdcard (Use Volume keys to navigate and Home key to confirm selection).
  5. After the zip is successfully flashed; Reboot your device. (If your device doesn’t boot after applying update.zip file try wiping cache and data in the recovery menu).
That is all. Now you have a rooted you Android 2.3.6 smartphone running latest official gingerbread firmware. After you reboot your phone you will get Superuser app in your app drawer (see the screenshots below) which proves that your phone is rooted successfully. Now, you are the King of your smartphone and do whatever you want with it (remove system apps, use root applications, etc as I mentioned above), but, be careful with it or you might even harm your device.

Notice the superuser app in the App Drawer. It confirms a successful root.
An application is asking permission for root access and as you can see superuser has prompted us asking whether to give it root access or not. P.S. Be careful to provide super user access to only those apps that you trust otherwise the app might even harm your device.
Also, here is a short list of ten applications that are useful for a rooted android smartphone. I suggest you go through them to fully utilize the root access permissions you have gained right now. Also, feel free to ask for help if you are stuck somewhere or have any doubts regrading any issues in the comments below.

  2. Prepaid,
Make sure you have GB 2.3.6 Os and then you use the root file from above. After that all you have to do is flash it in stock recovery. Are you trying to do it with CWM recovery? If so it might not work. For me it worked perfectly so I suggest you try again carefully.

  3. Hai Yagya,

My apologize. I already have GB 2.3.6 Os. Didn't realize it can't using CWM recovery to do root. After all trying in stock recovery voila it working. Thanks for information

  4. cann't we root it using superoneclick...?
which custom roms can i flash on SGM 2.3.6.....?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Anish,
Now you can't root this rom with super one click. Follow the steps above they are simple and easy.

Also, you can flash any custom rom (whichever you like) on Samsung Galaxy Mini 2.3.6. Just follow the instructions at http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-to-flash-custom-rom-in-samsung.html

  6. thnx yagya....
    i thought since it is 2.3.6, it will support only custom roms based on 2.3.6 n 2.3.7 (cm 7.0 , 7.1 n 7.2)
    anyway thnx for guidance....

  7. how to unroot after rooting wit this technique???

    ReplyDelete
  8. Sumeer,
The simplest way is to flash stock GB 2.3.6 again and wipe data and cache. It will probably remove root. Another way can be manually removing superuser and busybox binaries from your system. however, this is quite complicated process and is not recommended (also, I am not sure if it works since I have tested it yet.)

And, if you are thinking to unroot in future then it makes no sense on rooting it. There are only two options (either root or unroot you galaxy pop).

  9. thank you yagya for info...
i just asked for precautionary measures..

    what actually do flash mean??
what do flash CWM recovery mean???

    ReplyDelete
  10. sumeer,
Navigate through this site and you will understand what I mean by falsh. Flashing is similar to installing something. Flashing (CWM)clock work mod recovery means install CWM using Odin. You can find the link on this site so you better read through if you want to know more.

    Good Luck!

  11. I need some confirmations before I go ahead and root my phone.

I am using Samsung Galaxy MINI GT-S5570,

    Android version:
    2.3.6

    Baseband version:
    S5570XWKT2

    Kernel version:
    2.6.35.7-perf-CL703231
    root@DELL140#1

    Build number:
    GINGERBREAD.JVKT1

I have a 512MB SD Card, and I live in Europe.

If someone can confirm I can go ahead please.

Thanks in advance, and thanks you for your amazing blog too.

  12. 123google123,
I probably haven't tested it but, it works for most Gingerbread 2.3.6 roms. Make sure you flash the zip in stock recovery. For rest simply follow the steps above. Good Luck!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Stock recovery ? Home + Power Key buttons, right ?

If this won't root the phone, and I follow all the steps, will this brick my phone, or I can just get back to the original mode ?

    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  14. 123google123,
Sorry for making you confused. Just follow the steps above it will work for sure. If it doesn't you can get back to the original rom by flashing the rom using Odin. Go ahead and do it.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Thank you very much. I rooted it successfully. After the panic I had and fear, I feel relieved.

Actually it was a very very quick thing to do, and I am glad it worked.

Now I am going to flash CyanogenMod, but before I do that I have to ask you something else. (I know I am boring with these question, but I am pretty new to this whole thing, rooting, flashing ROM's etc..)

Now that I am rooted, do I need a bigger SD Card than the one I have, 512MB, or can I go ahead and flash CM7 even with this one.

    Thanks a million, man.
Your' fast and helpful replies helped me, so sooo much.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 123google123,
The sd card size has no relation with flashing customs roms including cm7. The only time it matters is if you want to use a2sd or s2e or similar scripts to move your apps to sd-ext (second partition) on your sdcard. In such case a higher class and bigger size sdcard is recommended. Else, you don't have to look at the size of the sdcard.

So, go ahead and flash cyanogen mod. If you get into any problem just post here and I will reply them tomorrow. It's time for me to go to bed. Good night.

    ReplyDelete
  17. OK Man, thanks again for your fast and helpful reply.

Will do that and let you know in case of any problems or success.

Thanks again, and have a good night.

  18. Do i need to backup my system files??

    ReplyDelete
  19. Mirza Amin,
No, need to backup your system files for this (or for any other things). You also don't need to backup your data/user apps if you are only going to root your device. Follow the steps above, everything needed to do is included there.

  23. this maybe a stupid doubt .but i just upgraded my galaxy pop to android 2.3.6 .
all the new features are really nice but i cant seem to take a snap shot anymore with the back+home button..

    ReplyDelete
  24. it said E:Error in /sdcard/update.zip
    (Status 7)
    installation aborted

    what should i do pals?

    ReplyDelete
  25. pranay,
To take screen shots use Home + Power button (or Power + Home). I found it a little difficult to take screenshots like that but play with home and power button and you will get it right. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. yirhkaf,
You selected the wrong option in recovery, it's not apply update.zip, the correct option is install zip from sdcard.

Read above steps carefully and you will know what I am taking about.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Thanks! that worked..
yea it was kind of a problem using it..

But y fix anything which isn't broke! strange..

    ReplyDelete
  28. How did you sign this update.zip? I'm trying to make a similar one for the P1010 tab also on 2.3.6. I edited your update-script to allow GT-P1010 but (kinda expected it) I got a "signature error" when I tried to apply it from the stock recovery

    ReplyDelete
  29. SpLaTTx_x,

If you are getting "signature error" then please turn off the signature verification in CWM recovery. You can do so in CWM recovery>>Install Zip from sdcard>>Toggle signature verification. Press this till you see disabled or similar message in the screen (below).

    ReplyDelete
  30. Also, to sign the zip use zip signer and it will sign the zip for you. You can download it from Tools and Utilities page or simply from the link below: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/45768197/Galaxy%20Mini%20Stuffs/Zip%20Signer.rar

    ReplyDelete
  31. Thanks for your answer. But as I said I'm trying to flash it from "Stock" recovery, not CWM. I thought this zip was meant for that, maybe I missunderstood. I tried zipsigner method and also signapk method with both generated keys and test keys. Maybe there's some lock in the stock recovery of my tab. Thank you anyway! and nice blog!

  32. I have rooted my Galaxy Mini (2.3.6) as you have shown and can you tell me how to UNROOT my Galaxy mini and what are the changes made by rooting the phone.

What can I do with it ???

Please reply in ur next comment how to unroot

    ReplyDelete
  33. Riddoy, please read the comments above yours and you will find your question has already been answered. Your best bet is re-flash stock unrooted rom.

    ReplyDelete
  34. SpLaTTx_x,
Sorry, I wrote CWM recovery by ,mistake. I meant (if you are getting failed signature verification or similar error) then turn off signature verification toggle in Install zip from sdcard option on (stock/custom) any recovery. Search for the option toggle signature verification and press it and see if it is disabled. Then you will be able to flash the zip (even if it is not signed). And, yes as you told this zip is for stock recovery (it doesn't work if you try to flash it in CWM recovery).

I hope this will solve your problem, (also the above Zip signer is quite different then other and it might just work, so I suggest you give it a try. For this zip signer, you rename your zip file to update.zip and then run sign.bat to sign it automatically (with test keys only). Just, tell me if there is anything I can do for help.

I do not want to install cyanogen mod...I rooted my my & I want to unroot it back without any kind of change........please Yagya help me !

    ReplyDelete
  36. Riddoy,
To remove root or to remove any custom rom, you have to flash stock rom using odin. To flash stockrom simply follow the instructions at upgrading to gb article, the procedure is same. Setup odin with stock rom , then flash it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. give me the link to the GB article

  39. Yagya I am totally hopeless now please help me...
I had followed ur steps word by word and rooted 2.3.6 successfully but when an app like titanium backup, adfree try to gain root access and complete the process successfully my phone reboots immediately. The action is done successfully BUT my phone reboots. Why? But I get no problem with setcpu, root explorer. This problem was not on FROYO(2.2.1) ROM only in GINGERBREAD ROM(2.3.3 to 2.3.6). I get the same thing on my two friend's phone also. Please please HELP me....

    ReplyDelete
  40. Ashish Kotnala,
I can't understand the problem with your device. For me the root is working pretty fine. I suggest you wipe your data after rooting and then install those apps that require root access. You might also want to upgrade the superuser app (but don't upgrade it manually, connect to internet and it will update itself).

    ReplyDelete
  41. if i root and faces further problem and then reinstall official rom again(mean unroot it)is it still cover the warrenty????

Yes, you can use the process to upgrade to GB 2.3.6.

    ReplyDelete
  44. shuvam,
yes, it will cover your warranty. Sorry for the late reply, I guess I missed it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hello again Yagya!

    Thanks on all your help!

I have just upgraded from froyo to the 2.3.5 GB that you suggested on the http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/09/installing-clock-work-mod-recovery-in.html post

It's all ok, but may I ask what should be the procedure to root the phone now?

I ask that because I want to use link2sd again (or shouldn't I try to use it anymore?)

I have noticed the phone has gotten smoother.

Is there any way to root 2.3.5?

Also I will search for a way to use flash on this one now.

    Thanks again.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hello Yagya.

    Already sorted the rooting out.

It seems that the file Edendroid gives out is the same that you gave (verified that through hashing...)

So I decided to try it out and it worked!!!

I now have 2.3.5 GB rooted!!!

    Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Chris,
I am glad everything is working out for you. And, since you are going to install custom rom, you needn't have bothered about rooting and flash player. Just install one of the custom rom and find the adobe flash player for ARM v6 processors that i have posted here and install it.

Also, if you haven't noticed it can you tell me how you sim unlocked your device? Thanks!

    Cheers.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Hello Yagya!

The method I used was described on this tutorial:

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1335548

Followed those steps and it worked neatly.

Now, for the flash player issue.

I have answered on the post about 'CWM installation" that still hasn't worked for me the Modded flash player that you've made available at tools... So I must conclude that it is not possible for Stock Roms.

Can you positively confirm that assumption?

    Well it's all for now.

Again, thanks very much for all your support and advice!

    Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Chris,
I have given you a link to flash player and request you to give a try and see if it works. ALso, I forgot to say one thing there so I am replying here. You might need busybox to run the command so either install it or using root-explorer set the permissions of all lib (*.so) files as shown in the image below:

  51. Shantanu

    Hey Yagya!

I'm happy to inform that this method works like a charm on the Samsung Galaxy Pro GT-B7510 too.
Updated to 2.3.6 using Odin (One package option) manually.
    Thank you.

I was also wondering if the 800 MHz processor is an ARM v6?

    ReplyDelete
  52. thank u for helping in rooting mini 2.3.6..
please tell me how to unroot it.please

    ReplyDelete
  53. Also, are you aware of any custom ROM's for the Galaxy Pro GT-B7510?

    ReplyDelete
  54. sashank,
To unroot you will have to flash the original stock firmware again as said in teh procedure while upgrading to GB. But, I don't see any logic in unrooting after rooting your device once.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Shantanu Iyer,
No, not yet. I am having a tight schedule so can't focus on broad topics. However, you might get some help if you go to xda developers forum.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thank you so much Yagya.I failed multiple time with SuperOneClick and z4root,but finally my pop is rooted with your method. Thanks, keep up the good work,God Bless :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. how much time does it take to root the device??

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hey,
I was wondering if your device is having any problems is wireless hotspot/tethering function after this root? I'm unable to use hotspot on my laptop (Windows Vista). I also tried Wireless Tether for Root users app.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Using wireless tether for root should work fine. Try again. Also, you can try CM7 if you need wireless tether since it works fine in CM7 with wireless tether app.

    ReplyDelete
  60. please tell what is the size of this file because i have downloaded it and its size is 0.90 mb and its name is gingerbred-2.zip i want to know that is this is the root file or not because i am taking the root risk

    ReplyDelete
  61. You probably seem very new to all this. But, don't worry, if you take the burden of going through the articles at this blog, you will be a pro within no time.

So, rooting and upgrading are two completely different things. Upgrading means to change your firmware with a latest or newer version, while rooting is the process of obtaining the super user permissions (to access, edit system files and have complete control over your device); much like removing the restrictions set by the manufacturer or the OS. Keep on digging through the post and you will learn a lot. Have a good time while you learn :)

  68. Which app are you using for moving? ALso, note some app can't be moved to sd-card even if you have rooted them. Try using Titanium backup app, Install Manager v3.2, etc app to move to sd-ext. Search for How to install apps to sdcard here and read through it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. The root directory means the one you get just after opening your Removable Disk in Your PC. Don't think too much (notice it is in bracket, means less important but recommended) and then copy it in your sd-card outside of any folders.

    ReplyDelete
  78. That's right... some Google features (as well as applications) are available only in certain geographical locations and it seems like Navigation is not available for the location you are at.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Hey Yagya can u explain what is bloatware?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Bloatware are the software or 'apps' that you don't need, but come preinstalled to a device's /system partition. You cannot remove them unless the device has been rooted. Usually, these are apps are sponsored by a company and included by a carrier for profit. For example, the Photobucket app included on the G2 by TMobile.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  98. You can flash stock rom to go back to stock recovery but, that is likely to remove all your apps and settings so backup them first. Or if you are ready to be a beta tester I can make a file that when flashed via recovery will replace your CWM recovery with stock recovery.

  105. To revert back to stock recovery you will need to flash the stock GB firmware again. Read through other comments here. It has been discussed already.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Well, I will see what I can do? But, first can you tell me how much did you pay for your Samsung Galaxy Pop Plus GTS5570i . I believe you are from India, can you also tell me where did you buy it from?

I will keep you updated if I got something, why don't you keep in contact with me at facebook.com/yagyagaire

    ReplyDelete
  112. To change CWM recovery to stock mod, simply flash the stock firmware using Odin. Make sure to backup your files before doing so.

Or, you can try this one here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529989

    ReplyDelete
  118. I think you need to have custom kernel to use Chain fire 3D. Why don't you try flashing any custom roms? It works fine in Cyanogen Mod 7

    ReplyDelete
  119.  hey bro if u got any solution for this then please let me know . . i'm also facing the same problems what u r facing

    ReplyDelete
  120. It works fine for galaxy pop plus too. Try it from above.

    ReplyDelete
  125. thanx for your blog yagya

i upgraded my pop to GB 2.3.6 using the method you posted but now i am unable to root it using the method you have described above.  another question, how to find out the recovery mode in my phone?

    thanx

    ReplyDelete
  126. Why are you unable to root it? Does it shows any errors or Are you unable to go to recovery mode? To go to recovery you press Home + Power Button while your phone is turned/switched off. It will then boot into recovery mod and then follow rest of the instructions to root your device.

    1.  "Apply update form sdcard" did not show files. Had to rename ROM to update.zip
    2. When I try to install it gives Status 6 error!

    ReplyDelete
  128. thanx for replying yagya

the installation gets aborted when i try to update from sd card in recovery mode

    ReplyDelete
  129. Updated with a new root file (upd_1.zip). Download it from above and try it. It will work for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  130. There are two options App update.zip and Apply update from sdcard (or similar ones). Be careful and select the one that is mentioned above.

ALso, I updated a new root file so give it a try. It will work well.

    ReplyDelete
  131. thanx
upd_1.zip worked for me! now what should i do next after rooting my pop?

    ReplyDelete
  132. after applying sd card update can i delete the zip file in sd card?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Yes, you can remove the zip. So, did it worked alright?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  136. nick jontu : It seems like the root file is working just fine. Why don't you try it again? Also, make sure you have stock recovery and gingerbread firmware installed. What is the installation error you get? It would help if you could elaborate it further.

    1. it said error tmp sideload error or something like that..anyway i did root my phone but i font know whst to do with it now so im thinking of unrooting it..i dont know what to do only

      Delete
  137. nick jontu: Now, that you have rooted. Try out these ten applications  http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/2011/09/top-ten-android-applications-for-rooted.html for rooted smartphone. Once you go on exploring you will find out there are many benefits of rooting. Please, note that it has disadvantages too. Also, you can check market for other root apps using 'root' as your search keyword. However, if you don't like the idea of rooting and want to unroot there's also an article I posted on doing so. Search for it here and follow it to unroot your galaxy mini/pop gt-s5570.

    ReplyDelete
  138. yes thanks for the advice i read your other article as well really helped!just one last quick question..how to know for sure if the phone has been unrooted!?like when the phone is rooted theres that app called super user.but how to know if the phone has been unrooted if i unroot my galaxy pop?

    ReplyDelete
  139. nick jontu,Yes, to make sure your device is unrooted, you can install any root apps like Titanium backup or Root Explorer and notice that they will report an error that your device is not rooted or root is not found. Also, you should notice that superuser app is now gone. If it is still there uninstall it for complete unrooting of your device.

  140. Cn we Ugrades our Processer 600mhz to 1ghz

    ReplyDelete
  141. Yes, buying yourself a Galaxy Mini 2 or Pop 2 will probably upgrade your Processor to 853 MHz and internal memory to 4 GB. LOL! :D

Sorry, for the joke! I am very tired at the moment. No, you can't do so. But, you can overclock upto 800+ MHz depending upon your devices capability. Flashing any custom rom will allow you this flexibility. Use search bar here to find and learn more. P.S. Note that upgrading and overclocking are different terms. I assume you meant overclocking :D (Yes, that's what you meant).

    ReplyDelete
  142. I installed clockworkmod via odin but had not rooted... now what should i do to install cm 7.2 rc 5.7.... Is this rom tested by you??

    ReplyDelete
  143. Yes, the rom is tested and works fine. Since you have CWM installed already why don't you give this custom rom a try. Happy flashing.

    ReplyDelete
  144. I think the file from mediafire is wrong.
I've download upd_1.zip and flash it via cwm recovery. but the installation is aborted.
It said some error about S5670. Maybe because you put a wrong file?

    ReplyDelete
  145. If you read the article carefully then you will know that you need to do this in stock Samsung recovery and not is clockwork mod recovery. FOllow the steps again in stock recovery and read through the comments for FAQs.

    ReplyDelete
  146. i copied upd_1.zip in root folder in sd card.. but when i went to recovery mode it doesn't show ny root folder in it.. what to do.? plz reply..

    ReplyDelete
  147. root directory doesn't mean root folder. It simply means not to copy the files inside any folder in your sd-card.

    ReplyDelete

  156. Hi. How do I mount/unmount my SD card to my PC??
Yea I know how to mount it but not to PC. Please help!

    ReplyDelete
  157. To enter the recovery mode you need to press Volume Up+Home+Power Button
    That worked for me.

    ReplyDelete
  158. Hi, I get the same message as other folks around here:

    4E: Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip(Status 7)Installation aborted

I don't have CWM, I have Android Recovery, I am running stock 2.3.6, and I would love to root my Galaxy Mini so I can tether to my Galaxy S. I noticed in the message that it might fail due to the phone model. It rooting process looks for GT-S6570 or something. I have the GT-S5570L, which I guess is the latin american version. Maybe that's it?

Is there a solution for this? Please!

    Thanks in advance, Yagya Gaire!

    ReplyDelete
  159. My pleasure... Enjoy your rooted smartphone.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Check to make sure your zip file is correct. Download it again and make sure it is not corrupted.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Looks like you are trying to do it in Galaxy Pop Plus GT-S5570i. If that is the case, try with this root file : http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?pa7407j47u6hxx0

    ReplyDelete
  163. Thank you so much man! I bricked my phone 2 times with other methods (Including GingerBread) And this just works like a charm! I'm going to upload this to Youtube!

    ReplyDelete
  164.  Thanks man.. This worked after trying many other tuts which requires adb and all sh*ts.. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  165. Yagyagaire, since you helped me to root my device, i have few questions to ask you. :)
1> Can i use the power button to capture images through my camera? If yes, how? This feature was in Creeds Rom (& others) which i really like.
2> How to get the quick panel in this stock gingerbread version?

    Thanks bro.

    ReplyDelete
  166. 1. You'll need to use creeds rom for that. Or, you can use 360 camera app or any other camera app from market which supports that feature. I am out of names for now, so do some search.

To get quick panel, you'll either need to edit your rom or use other rom that includes the feature. If I remember correctly, it was introduced in emanoN v3 (but I can't recall it clearly at the moment).

  167. Hello. Yagya, if I root my phone. Is there anything changes in my messaging?

    ReplyDelete
  168. No there won't be any changes to your system. Just a new app will be added which will help you manage permissions and give you root access whenever you want.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Hello yayga. If I rooted my phone can I change my theme without using application?

    ReplyDelete
  170. I rooted my phone and i saw Superuser application but when I open it nothing happen. I saw a orange tab. What can I do?

    ReplyDelete
  171. Read this : http://smartandroidsolutions.blogspot.com/2012/04/what-is-rooting-what-are-its-advantages.html

    ReplyDelete
  172. hey yagya i rooted my pop .... and now pls lemme know about the roms which i can install on my phone and how.....

    ReplyDelete
  173. You can install most of the roms here which are titled Galaxy Mini or Pop GT-S5570. For a complete list of roms and other things you can try here see : http://yagyagaire.blogspot.com/search/label/Samsung%20Galaxy%20Pop%2FMini%20GTS5570

Also, you can look for rom list at Tools and Utilities menu then, search here to find more information and installation instructions.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Hey Yagya, that's was so easy. It's the best to root 2.3.6 where even superoneclick fails. One point though, while downloading the file is named upd_1. zip and in point 4 you have addressed it as
gingebread-2.3.6-root.zip which may confuse some users. Great work man. Thanks a lot

    ReplyDelete
  175. hello yagya...
I just wantd to know if i can root my samsung galaxy pop cdma the same way or not
    please reply soon

    ReplyDelete
  176. I'm glad it made it you easier to rot your device. Also, I'm grateful you pointed out the error. It happened so, as there was gingerbread-2.3.6-root.zip file while I first wrote this article, then while I was experimenting with it, it stopped working. So, I replace with the new file, but, forget to change the name in instructions.

    Great error catching :) Cheers!
