  2. Hi! I am beginner with Android, so I am sorry if my question is a little bit dumb...

You write "upgrading your galaxy ace with Froyo 2.2.1 or previous DDKQ5 firmware to Gingerbread 2.3.6." Does it mean that my GB 2.3.3 firmware (XWKP8) can not be upgradable by this DDKQ8 firmware? Or does not it matter which GB I have?

    ReplyDelete
  3. No, that doesn't mean you can't upgrade. You sure can upgrade your GB 2.3.3 or any other firmware too. However, I sprecially focused those since DDKQ8 is official upgrade for DDKQ5 rom. I can see you are from European country.

You too can upgrade to it.

  4. My ace has firmware is 2.3.3 with PDA: S5830XWKPY, PHONE: S5830XWKP8, CSC: S5830OXEKP4   But i m in nepal can i upgrade by this DDKQ8?

  5. Yes, probably you can. I can see that the device was send to you by your relatives in Baltic or maybe in any other European Country. Whatever the country be your device seems to be up to data with latest GB 2.3.6 version. Check it at About Phone Settings to confirm. If it is not then yes you can use the firmware from above unless your phone is carrier unlocked (and begin from Nepal I'm sure it is).

are there different firmware specifically for different Galaxy aces?

  7. Do i need to install a custom recovery like cwm?

    ReplyDelete
  8. No, you don't need to install any custom recovery... Simply follow the steps above and it is enough.

  9. Well, yes. There are different firmwares for various galaxy aces. Since, Samsung can't release updates to all geographical region at the same time, it releases updates on one location at a time basis and firmwares are also specifically designed to support that regions requirements (languages, etc).

  10. Yagya ji it seems that 2.3.6 GB official firmware is available in nepal also but kies shows that this firmware(2.3.3) is latest, as i know, to upgrade via kies its csc should be for our  region. how can i change the csc of my phone from baltic reigon to nepal is it possible or not? it doesnot show any update available in ->about phone ->software update.
i have tried to change country code with *#272*IMEI# only SEB SKZ and BAL are available to select not NPL

  11. Well, Yes Gingerbread 2.3.6 is available in Nepal too. And, what you are witnessing above is the official one for Nepal. Due to the reason most goods come to Nepal from India the updates are also same. So, you can simply follow the steps above to upgrade to GB 2.3.6.

I'm sure you device is unlocked. So, in that case simply flash above and your device should have GB 2.3.6 for Nepal. I'm not sure about changing CSC. But, unless you flash firmware from other regions or other custom roms, Kies should detect your device.
