Chocobread v2.0 For Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop GT-S5570.

Chocobread, a custom rom introduced during December of the previous year, has gone through many changes and updates and thanks to the continuous dedication of the developer --flowish-- we are getting this v2.0 update today. Chocobread is a custom rom with stock appearance --much like most of other custom roms, except cyanogen mod, are-- but has many features of custom rom as well as it's design is themed to look much beautiful and attractive (you can view the screenshots for that). So, without any delay, continue reading to find out more as well as for the instructions to flash this update on your galaxy pop/mini/next.

This rom has got many changes than it's previous versions and below I have outlined the change log for this update to Chocobread rom.

Changelog :

  • Base firmware 2.3.6 S5570WMKPJ.
  • Include Overclocking Kernels upto 864 MHz. Use No Frills CPU Control App to set CPU Frequencies.
  • New Features kernel : I/O scheduler & Governor, EXT2/3/4, RFS, FAT16/32 and NTFS File system support.
  • 9 Lock Screens, Cyanogen Mod screenshots, 14 toggle status bar (Ported from emanon ROM).
  • Ice Cream Sandwich (Icons, Launchers, Fonts, Transitions Animation).
  • Date & Center clock.
  • Darktremor APPS2SD Script included (Fast Reboot after moving Dalvik or after first boot).
  • Block ads.
  • SQ-Lite patch.
  • AD-HOC wireless support.
  • New Boot sound
  • Bravia Engine, DSP Manager, etc added.
  • Update some application (Superuser+su binary, YouTube, Real Calc, Terminal Emulator, etc).
  • Use Google DNS.
  • MIUI Music, Filemanager, No-frills CPU, Touchwiz Launcher.
  • Old Market.
  • New init.d script.
  • UI Improvement, New wallpapers and Other tweaks.
So, this is the changelog and they seem very promising and convincing. However, if you are still not satisfied you can view the screenshots of Chocobread v2.0 rom here.

So, once you feel like giving it a try, download latest Chocobread v2.0 rom from Roms and Utilities page and then follow the instructions from below and install/flash this rom on your Samsung Galaxy Mini/Pop GT-S5570 smartphone.

  6. Thanks for your effort to participate in the discussion. It is highly encouraged (to all) to do the same. However, do read the problem carefully before replying. In this case -- He is asking for Chocobread rom and not for Cyanogen Mod

  9. I can guarantee that however this rom is quite good; but you can sure give it a try after a nandroid backup and then see for yourself. If you don't like it then just restore the backup in recovery.

  12. No, it doesn't have bugs. Also, the Force Close is not due to the rom's fault. It's because you didn't wipe data and cahce after flashing the rom. Follow the instructions above carefully and you will not have any problem.

  19. No, this is to be done in clock work mod recovery which you can flash using Odin. Also, you need to have gingerbread to install this. And, sorry for not reaching to you, I got much less time these days and I couldn't find you in my short time when I am free.

  22. Your phone doesn't start at all or is it stuck at some point ; if it is stuckthen try flashing the ROM again after wiping data and cache in clockwork mod recovery. Otherwise try flashing gingerbread firmware using Odin by going to download mode.

  24. Hi Yaga! after some issue I experience I flash my MINI to chocobread, looks nice and simple, anyway my have some questions to ask :

    - SD CARD is already partition, is dark's script automatically installed to SD-EXT?

    - I find the music on CM 7.2 more louder and outcome, what apps did they use? can I install it on CHOCOBREAD?

    - is FONTOMIZER SP apps compatible on CHOCOBREAD?

Thx in advance yagya! more power!

  25. what abt comparision betwn chocobead & rc5.4. which rom has the best battery backup.... any other rom suggestions as the best....

    ReplyDelete
  26. No, dark's a2sd script is not installed already. You will need to flash the script again in CWM recovery --follow my tutorial.

For music app, it's quite nice. And, I think you don't need much loud sound but, if you do then I request you switch to CM7.2 where it was better for you. You can't simply install them in chocobread --but the developer might be able to put them there if he wishes.

I think yes, Fontomizer app is compatible. Try installing and run it.

  27. I like CM7 because it has some features that I need and another might like Chocobread for it's simplicity (stock look) as well as some custom features. So, it's just a matter of taste; battery is pretty well in both the roms. So, flash the one you like --view screenshots, videos, etc. to decide more easily.

  28. I am using Cyanogen Mod Music Edition ROM which has gingerbread 2.3.7. This one has gingerbread 2.3.6. Will it cause any problem if I try this ROM?

    ReplyDelete
  29. No it won't cause any problem. Just skip step 1 and 2 and follow rest of the procedure to get this on your device.

  30. Sir yagya presently I am using cm7 can I flash chocobread on cm7. Or else go back to gingerbread and flash chocobread

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yes, you can probably copy those apps form your stock GB rom and then set appropriate permissions using root manager, Or it might even work if you install them from sdcard too.

    ReplyDelete
  35. i m currently using CM7.2 rc5.1 can i install CHOCOBREAD v2.0 without updating to GB...

    ReplyDelete
  36. and plss tell that is it PREROOTED ROM????

  37. Yes, It is rooted already. In fact it is to be noted that all custom roms are pre-rooted roms.

    ReplyDelete
  39. i have a problem. The brown "Chocobread Android" screen wont disappear after reboot. Please help

  40. Wipe data and cache in clockwork mod recovery and reboot again. It will take some time for first boot so be patient.

    ReplyDelete
  41. nothing is happening after the choco bread android screen kept for 2 hrs on galaxy mini

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sorry, for the late reply. To fix the problem, go Bach to recovery and wipe data and cache and dalvik cache (in advance menu) and then t reboot your device. If that doesn't help, flash the ROM again using previous version v4 of CWM recovery.

  43. i tried to overclock CPU in my galaxy mini chocobread but no other frequency is stable other than 600MHZ, if i set some higher frequency its just getting rebooted and no changes. any solution to overclock my device.

  44. When Facebook Opening an account using the facebook application on my phone, it just makes the phone screen blink continuously.

    Any workaround for this?

    ReplyDelete
  45. No, not at the moment. I think it's the problem with the app or the rom. Why don't you trying doing a factory reset (data wipe) or I suggest you switch to another rom. Do a backup before you do either of them.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Maybe your hardware doesn't support overclocking. Try a much lower frequency around 650 MHz too. Or, try upgrading to another custom rom.

    ReplyDelete
  47. thanks it worked but how to move apps to sd . only 5-10 apps i have installed and memory full apps2sdgui how to operate it

    ReplyDelete
  48. ok thnks i got frm a2sd

    ReplyDelete
  49. You will need to flash a2sd script to use app2sdgui. But, I suggest you use s2e since it is much simpler. Find the article related to s2e or a2sd here and go through it for step by step instructions.
